First of all the best bud in the West coast is grown organically outdoor in California. That is why I left Las Vegas and came back home so I can enjoy the real deal.
My background as a grower and Medical patient is mostly Organic Soil based outdoor but I have grown some good Hydro, but you need to know the difference. The best you can ever grow is from what Mother Nature has created but there are big differences in the techniques. Hydro needs a lot more attention and is less forgiving if you don’t measure the Ph, EC, and PPM(parts per million) since there is no soil to begin with.
My first couple of batches died from not keeping close attention to these details and I want to teach you the proper balance and techniques to avoid these mistakes. First of all you will always need constant electricity to grow indoor hydro since you will need an air pump running 24/7, an air stone, and a net cup filled with clay pebbles to suspend the plant roots in an oxygen-rich nutrient solution for DWC (Deep water culture system like i used) be prepared to keep close watch to the levels or everything can go south quickly. I used Reverse Osmosis (RO) water because they start with a clean slate of near-zero parts per million (PPM) dissolved solids. This purity gives you total control over the exact nutrients and pH your plants need to survive.
I also used the best natural nutrients like Botanicare Pure Blend Pro: A hybrid natural/organic based 1part base nutrient (Grow and Bloom) derived from organic botanicals, sea kelp, humic acid, and rock phosphate. Since you are not using purely based organic nutrients that can clog hydro DWC systems if you want to grown top of the line you can’t use cheap chemicals or you are not growing great tasting natural herbs. Next you must change the water every week, checking the root system and checking for mold and parasites. Failure to do so can cause a complete loss of all of your other healthy plants.
I used an Activated Charcoal Carbon Air Filters to keep the smell down and pumped the air out of the roof and it worked perfectly. The last thing I used to grow healthy hydroponic plants was using natural ambient air without any supplemental CO₂ enrichmenment. I prefer this to artificial sources.
The results where naturally tasting Strawberry Haze, Big ass Northern Lights / Bigbud cross and I flushed the bud before drying and curing the cannabis naturally. This is not as good quality as natural organics but better than chemical bud.
Most companies skip these stages because they want the fastest growing product and in a rush for profits but the medical users enjoy it.
